May 26, 20224 yr This video was just uploaded to YouTube by someone who, I believe, is a real-world 737 pilot. He makes a brief, easy suggestion for enhancing sim performance. My first thought was, "Oh sure," I've heard that a thousand times before. But I watched the video and made the tweak. The results were surprisingly positive. This tweak doesn't so much improve FPS as it does smooth out the jerkiness between frames. All I can say is that, on my seven year-old system, I can now fly with clouds set to Ultra and I can pan around the aircraft as smoothly as when the sky is set to Clear. I couldn't do that before. I always use a worst-case scenario when trying out new settings. For me, it's a direct west departure from Atlanta Hartsfield. Of all the places I've ever flown in MSFS, that area performs the worst on my system. After I made the one-character Registry edit suggested in the video, everything was totally smooth. Again, it's not so much a boost in FPS as it is a general smoothing out of video throughput. Give it a try. You can always change it back. May 26, 20224 yr Interesting, but my setting was already set to that value and in no way have I ever previously modified the setting. BTW, my folder tree in regedit did not show later branches in that path. I needed to type it in manually, one folder level at a time, to arrive there.
