July 14, 20223 yr It's one of my most used aircraft, so I do have an idea on how to start her up. I'm having an issue now where when I attempt to start the engine, the NG won't go above 21, and the engine won't start. I have both fuel shutoff's on, as well as the firewall valve in. If I attempt to start on the runway with the engine already running, I hear a bang and the engine shuts off. I haven't messed with any settings, am I missing something obvious?
July 14, 20223 yr They have introduced the correct way for turbines to be started (I suggest reading a manual for the engine) which you can find online. I would only confuse you if I try to tell you how. WHat you are getting when y0u get that bang is the thing no turbine pilot wants to have. A hot start which will need a complete motor rebuild. Even when starting from the runway? Very strange. I haven't done anything differently to how I've been starting it since I purchased it.
