I can't find this article but the gist of it was, the marketplace was added exposure that translated into more sales. I think it comes down to discounts. If a sale happens to come along offering a product you want, get it, wherever the marketplace is. Yes, that was my point. The developer accepts a lesser amount for each sale via the marketplace but hopes the increased visibility and ease of purchase will encourage more to buy it. But with convenience comes disadvantages as previously pointed out. Ray (Cheshire, England). July 27, 20223 yr Also, for a few smaller developers, like Simbol, they actually prefer to only release their product in the MSFS marketplace, because the MSFS marketplace makes it easier for them to prevent the piracy of their product, and Microsoft also takes care of the transaction, and their product is very easy for the user to install (which cuts down on support time), which helps the smaller developers like Simbol immensely. You can read Simbol's reasoning for only releasing his Sting S4 in the MSFS marketplace here: and here: Edited July 27, 20223 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
