f you haven't chosen yet definitely take a look at this case.

I'm not looking. I have a Phanteks Evolv X, which is even better looking than my cat. Cools great. Just two 140's at the front and one at the rear I have installed. Room for three at the front and three more at the top. Not required though.

I learnt a long time ago that almost all of us over cool our PC's. You'd be suprised how little the temp drops with an extra fan.

Interesting that the old design of PSU at the top is making a comeback.

You'll certainly be getting plenty of air to your card with three fans at the bottom. If your motherboard allows, you might want to try the 3 bottom fans controlled by your GPU temp rather than CPU.

I have the 3090 FTW 3 Gaming Ultra, and there's actually a fan header on the end of the card. Not sure how many amps and how many fans it supports.

I got you mixed up with the OP lol

So far the GPU is running pretty cool,

I undervolted it this morning and was seeing temps around 65 degrees with a power draw of only 350W in MSFS. I will do some more testing tomorrow, now I have some good data I can dial in my fan curves. On this case all 5 fans are connected to one controller so they all run at the same speed. I may switch this so that the 3 bottom 140mm fans under the GPU are controlled independently thus giving me more finite control.

You would think that controlling the case fans via GPU temps would be an option but I am not sure it is on any board. I only use this PC for my Sim so it is pretty easy to tweak it just for MSFS

Might be just an Asus option. As I say, there is a fan header at the end of the graphics card, at least there is on my EVGA 3090.

I’ll have to take a look at mine today,

With the undervolt I’m seeing around 65 degrees and 340w which is pretty decent. I’m going to dial the fan curves in over the next few days.

Actually, just occurred to me, you can set configure chassis fans to be controlled by the GPU temp in the utility called "Argus Monitor.

JayzTwoCents checked it out.

Any reason why you are undervolting? I've never seen the need.

I've just checked my BIOS and it seems I'm mistaken. Lots of temp source options, everything from RAM to VRM's etc. But not GPU. I do have the temp probe option of course, where I can run a temp probe to the GPU and control the fan connected based on the GPU temp that way.

I first did an undervolt on my 3080TI as I had read a few articles on the benefits, less power = less heat = less noise from the fans. My last build was in a smaller case so I wanted to keep the heat down. It’s super simple to do and can be reversed with the click of a button. I saw absolutely zero performance loss and better thermals so when I built this system over the weekend and did some tests stock, again I saw a good improvement in heat and power draw.
If you’re interested this is the tutorial I followed, super easy

Yes, I'm aware how, I'm not a stranger to the concept. I don't really feel the need though. My temps are well within acceptable parameters and the fans aren't that noisy. 🙂

Ah sorry I see,

I am going to do some more testing over the next few days, I may end up removing it. I am watching the video on the fan software, it actually looks pretty cool (pun intended lol)

Thanks for sharing that
