Dover (KDOV) over Philly in F-22

Featured Replies

Was actually heading off to NYC but just grabbed a couple of shots from the beginning of the journey. Nice new skin for the F-22. The textures on this plane aren't (to my mind) quite up to the default F-22 in P3D, but I'm very glad to have it and hopefully it will continue to improve. Don't ask me about flight models or realism on the controls or any of that stuff - as ever I'm just happy to get it off the ground and down again, and as long as the HUD works and the view out the window is good that's all I ask. It could be a Cub, 777, A380 or F-22, they're all the same to me in that sense (I like to throw that in to infuriate the purists <grin>)

So, heading out from KDOV, chosen because it looked like it would be an interesting bit of scenery to cover on up to NYC and beyond

Not far from departure I saw this. Looked interesting so went to Google Earth and it turns out to be the Dover Speedway circuit.

And that thing is "Miles the Monster", apparently!

Anyway, enoogh of that. Back to the plane and on up the road. Only a few minutes and we're heading towards Philadephia

Didn't stop to explore or cause any mayhem here, saving all that for NYC (in my next post), so - on we go!

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Nice views of Delaware and Philly. Your non-purist leanings (and courage to express them here) are always appreciated.🙂

Cheers John. I've got a freeware Philly airport but didn't stop ever there this trip. Maybe I'll go back in something more appropriate and have a look round

Great shots Andy .

Cheers John (didn't I just say that? <grin>). One of the pleasures of my kind of trip is spotting things like that and checking them out. It's quite amazing what's out there and also that they're represented in the sim. Add in Google Earth and Wiki and you've got one fine exploration tool.
