Is it possible to keep a post editable for a longer period?

Featured Replies

I started a topic and it would be convenient if I could retain the option to edit the opening post for quite some time (like forever 😉 ). Is it somehow possible to request this? Maybe a mod can flag the opening post so it will never lose its ability to be edited?

I have nothing to do with this forum but none of the other forums that I visit or administer allow much more than an hour for user edits.
I could imagine that a far bigger can of worms would be opened by allowing user edits indefinitely than is already opened by not allowing them after an hour.
One of the best things about a forum is that there is no denying what has been written, as it stays there, for all to see and critique, forever.
Sometimes people seem to forget this, or perhaps they don't care.

Edit time for members is 2 hours.  That is it and it will not be modified.

But if a title is incorrect or perhaps misleading are Mods able to edit the title or message at the request of the OP?  I believe I have had that done once or twice in 20+ years.

For any edits you want done after the 2hr limit, please do a Report and we will be happy to take care of it for you!
