August 21, 20223 yr Pax-to-Freighter conversions (either by Boeing itself or by a 3rd Party) has turned out to be a cost-effective operation of aging (Boeing) aircraft, for many operators. For example, the 767-300F is a (production) freighter version of the 767-300ER, built in factory. The 767-300BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) is another modified passenger-to-freighter model of the 767, with the conversion work performed by a (Boeing approved) 3rd party, here, Singapore by ST Aerospace Services. Then, today, I came across this curious (BDSF) conversion of a 767-300ER. (BDSF) stands for "Bedek Special Freighter". This specific (customized) freighter conversion is performed by the reputed Aerospace and Aviation manufacturer, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). The conversion could be with or w/o winglets. The example I show below has winglets. IAI has also previously converted (Pax) B747-400s into "BDSF" freighters, many of these 747s, long past their useful pax role, are actively operational now, around the globe, still continuing to prove their worth.... 50+ of the various types of 767-300 freighters are currently in service with Amazon Prime Air and constitute the staple of their fleet, transporting the Amazon Prime shipping orders...from place to place. The logo on the tail of this specific 767-300BDSF (see 4 pictures, below) interestingly shows a Globe and a Maple Leaf in addition to the normal “smile” log of Amazon Prime, which is more normal. BTW, looking at your (MSFS) 738 images...now...And, I noticed separately that PMDG has included (BDSF/BCF) conversion models of the 737-800, the two freighter variants I've mentioned above for the 767-300ER. The Prime Air 738 looks even more colorful (than the 763), with reversed colors on the fuselage...white "Prime Air" typeface on blue.... I believe someone had already painted the Prime Air on the (MSFS) 737-700, and now, it will be good on the 737-800...looking forward to seeing the 738 Prime Air...🙂... (The 737-800 BDSF conversion is also performed by the same outfitter aviation company "IAI"...they have done BDSF now for 737/747/767 and the latest one is for an Airbus 330-300...)
