September 22, 20223 yr Yeah I know its a cheat but occasionally I just jump in a plane and navigate via the VFR map or use it as a back up making sure I am where I am supposed to be. It looks a bit different since SU10 has some minor enhancements like mile scale. However now you can only zoom out to 200nm. I am pretty sure it was much more then that before like 500nm. I hope this is noticed and fixed back to how it was as far as zoom goes. I don't think it was a complex change!
September 22, 20223 yr Check out the free and immensely capable LNM https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap.html Apart from its flight planning capabilities it has an excellent moving map (can even use Google Maps) zoommable to a global scale.
September 22, 20223 yr Author I will have to give littlenavmap a try. I have heard good things but never bothered to try it. Hopefully in a future update they bring back the 500nm zoom feature on the default VFR Map. The enhancements are cool but when you are flying tube liners 200nm max zoom does not really cut it.
September 22, 20223 yr I have not updated yet, but the only thing I am really looking forward to with the new VFR map is to be able to type in your destination airport 300-400 nm away and see the in-game actual metar so you can set up your FMC/MCDU with the proper info (vs relying on the internet). Can wait. CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
