Elevator trim disconnects AP

Recommended Posts

Hi,

in my setup,I have joystick buttons assigned to elevator up trim and elevator down trim.In the Falcon 50,the AP disconnects when I use these buttons. This is mentioned in the

manual. In other aircraft I was able to find the aircraft dat file and correct this. How do you correct this in the Falcon 20?I want to keep using my elevator trim buttons on the joystick.

Thanks for any advice.

Not sure what you are asking. When the AP is on, it uses trim to control the aircraft. If you apply manual trim, that disconnects the AP because that's how the real aircraft works. So it is not a bug of some type that needs to be corrected.  When the AP is off you should be able to use the joystick trim buttons without a problem.

You should never manually trim when the autopilot is engaged in any aircraft. This is standard behavior in all real autopilot equipped aircraft. Any manual trim inputs will immediately disconnect the autopilot.

If the autopilot is engaged, it trims automatically so there is no need to trim manually.

I recommend you watch and learn from this video.  At about 0:50:00 into the video he starts a descent and you can see what he uses to manage VS.  Also, if you can still edit your most recent post you should edit out all the white space (return keys) below your message text.
