October 16, 20223 yr Normally if you do that reversion, then you can't FLY without redownloading the whole sim (with Steam that terrible business is called Verifying). But this trick makes it fast and easy. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/unable-to-opt-out-of-su11/549448/23 #19: "Un-enroll out of the Xbox insider beta, restart your system. (Steam chose Beta = NONE) Check Microsoft store for an update (should be 1.8gb) (Steam does this for you automatically). Once it's done, boot it up and check the world map, and version number, make sure its SU10 Close the sim Move (do not delete) the \Official\OneStore\fs-base-ui-pages folder. I say MOVE, because you can cut and paste it into a backup folder on your desktop or elsewhere just in case, less destructive. Load the sim. It’ll prompt for an update, which should be 4MB or so. Let it re-download the folder you “deleted”. ---------------------------- #31: "(the messed up map) Can be fixed by removing both fs-base-ui-pages & fs-base from the Official directory & letting FS redownload them after reverting to SU10. It’s about 13gb total but better than doing a full reinstall. Of course other files were updated with the SU11 installation, airports, airplanes, activities etc so this is no guarantee that other problems won't occur without a full reinstall. But so far so good for me." ----------------- Me: Yes if you just move fs-base-ui-pages folder out of Official, then it will revert and allow you to FLY. But the front page map will be messed up. But if you move both fs-base-ui-pages AND fs-base folders out of Official for safekeeping and reboot the sim, then it will revert back to SU10 (about a 7 GB download, no big deal). I did like #31 suggested and am back from SU 11 to SU 10 pretty fast and everything works fine in some hours of flying. So if you're in SU 11 and don't want to be there, then the above is the smart way (50 times faster than DL the whole sim). October 30, 20223 yr @Fielder, this post was the most charming thing that happened to me this morning after having been able to sleep an additional hour and wake up with my cat on my breast trying to figure out what weird roaring snoring sounds were those leaving my throat 🙀 Just because of that from now on I will agree with all of your posts !!! For a whole year !!! 🙂 I had a few nightmares related to MFS. In one of those Austin was making try to stop his Lancair Evolution prop with my hands... This all started yesterday when I succumbed to the decision of keeping a XP12-only simmer and decided to push MFS again, wanting to check SU11... For a start, and after the relatively fast install ended, I was surprised to se I was already in SU11... Wow, I thought I had never seen it other than at the forums, and honestly do not remember having opted for it ... But there I was running MFS SU 11. The first session was great, but the second time I loaded MFS the problems started.... .) There was no real world weather available; .) The sim kept saying that due to short bandwidth I was going to be kicked out of online; .) The top right STATUS / SERVERS screen didin't let me interact to choose anothert server; and so on and so forth, SO.... I decided to opt out of SU11 - which I thought I ad never even opted in... - and wet the usual track: .) in xBox Insider opted out; .) FORGOT to reboot Win 11 and loaded the sim; .) In a cycle that lasted a few iterations I tried to push an update from the Store App, but there was never one, and in xBox Insider I sure was ot of Beta already 😕 .) Sim version was still SU 11 and all of the problems with Real World Weather and shortage of bandwidth were still there, but real world traffic always worked fine ( ??? ) Well, I went to bed thinking to myself - STUPID JOSE!!! THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FROM CHEATING XP12 !!! This morning turned the PC on, started MFS, and there was that 1,8GB update 🙂 but.... After starting MFS I still do not have Real World Weather, the Globe looks funky 😕 So, I came to the "Coffee Shop" to try to find if any other MFS SU11 Beta victims had similar complaints, and your post was the first I found... Couldn't have been easier - so I hope! - so that as soon as I arrive home I'll try your suggestion and delete those two files, get SU10 back and then, before lunch time, uninstall MFS 🙂 Eheheheh I'm CRAZY MAD !!! But MFS doesn't help either....🤪 Edited October 30, 20223 yr by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
October 30, 20223 yr Author Good luck, jcomm ! I'm running SU11 beta just fine now with no problems. The problems all went away with the latest beta update. But back when the earlier edition of SU11 beta was giving me problems, using the move 2 folders method, I reverted back to SU 10 twice with no issues. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
