October 17, 20223 yr Many oddities still lurking around. Today over Lake Erie at FL400 I observed two aircraft way down below me, literally at a level appearing to be near the surface of Lake Erie, both leaving long contrails. They are visible in this screen shot. Surface temp at Erie (KERI) was 10°C, well above freezing. I have seen that before. And no, they were not boats leaving 5 mile long wakes. They were moving way to fast to be boats.
