If you set your refresh rate in NCP to 24hz with the Judder reduction filter set to 10 which is Maximum and have Vsync on in the sim, the TV will interpolate and generate its own extra frame in between each frame it recieves from the PC. So if the TV is getting 24fps from the system, which it will if refresh rate is set to 24 in NCP, you get 48fps on the TV. Likewise if you then set NCP to 30hz you will get 60fps on the TV screen. It's like DLSS but the TV does the work not the GPU. IMO its better than DLSS and it comes without all the Nvidia marketing BS. I can confirm this does indeed work and actually pretty well. I discovered this a couple of days ago and tried a 43 inch Samsung TU7000 we have in the house. I have done a number of flights over the last 2 days in the PMDG & Fenix with Ultra settings, heavy weather & FSLTL and I have been pleasantly surprised how fluid the result is with the TV @ 30Hz and the FPS locked @ 30. It is still easy to become main thread limited with too high a TLOD value or live traffic when at really large busy airports like London Heathrow so a few tweaks here and there tend to mitigate those issues. I typically like flying in and out of smaller regional airports and did a flight today from Liverpool to Ibiza in the PMDG and with lots of live and parked aircraft at both ends I had a solid 30fps which does feel like 60fps with the judder reduction on 10. I have been looking at changing my bog standard TCL 4K TV for a while and this weekend when my wife is working I will be hooking my Sim PC up to my 65 inch Sony X90J which is a FALD, 120Hz & VRR TV to experiment what the judder features are like. I like this TV and have seen a few 50 inch units used locally for nearly half the price of a used LG C1 Oled panel. Bottom line if you can get your hands on a newish Samsung TV give this a try, you might be surprised at the results. Just to be clear it not only feeling like 60fps, it is 60fps! 😂 I don't know if you saw my other comment about HCR (hot key resolution changer). Its little app that allows you to change the refresh rate so when you are on approach into a hub that packs a punch on performance and you drop below your required 30fps you can hit the hot key and change your refresh rate from 30hz to 24hz (or 23hz). you do get a black screen for split second but you are essentially changing the FPS on screen from 60 to 48. So long as your not getting below 24fps delivered its perfectly smooth. Virtually no difference between 60fps and 48 fps for me. Currently have it set to 60Hz & 30Hz. So far I haven’t had any issues dropping below 30fps with my current setup. I’m curious, how did you stumble upon this whole 30Hz/30fps and the judder setting? It’s quite an amazing find. There were broad results so I think it hit and miss. Can remember the website. shouldn't be difficult to find. November 6, 20223 yr That is a great site, and I do wish my TCL had judder reduction, but I only paid $280 for a 43" 60hz TCL, which is crystal clear and a native contrast ratio around 5000:1. I would say other than judder reduction, look at the contrast ratios. If you fly at night, try not to buy anything less than 3000:1 if you can help it, the higher the better. QD LED is going to be the best, but it's expensive and has its own drawbacks. A regular O-LED might also do the trick, but then you have potential longevity issues (maybe, not sure). I think I am going to be in the market for a new 50 inch 4K TV lol. I am leaning towards an X90J as it FALD, it's a 120Hz panel and has VRR if I wanted to use it. November 7, 20223 yr I don't know if you'll use TrackIR. If so and you are using a TV with Judder reduction and you use a default profile you may need to increase you TrackIR smoothness to Max and keep you panning speed fairly low. Its work taking the time to tweak a TrackIR profile specifically for use with Judder reduction. Also if with a large TV 40" + you migh also want to consider mounting the TrackIR camera behind you on a tripod and wear the Baseball cap catcher style. November 8, 20223 yr I've been doing some Racing lately in F1 2019, Project Cars 2 and Dirt Rally 2. The later can be hard hitting even on a i9 10900K at 5.2ghz and a 3090. Especially Dirt Rally 2 at 4K of maxed out setting can knock the FPS below 60fps and even below as 50 leading to obvious stutters in the game play. It good to know that for anyone interested Judder Reduction works at 50hz so I have a choice of playing Dirt Rally 2 at 60hz for 60fps on screen and occasionally getting stutters or playing it a 50hz reducing the load on the system and getting 100fps on screen with no stutters. See how that works? Same kind of reasoning they use for DLSS.🤣 Edited November 8, 20223 yr by FBW737 Intel Core i9-10900K at 5.2GHz, Corsair H115i PRO, ASUS MAXIMUS XII HERO Z490, G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 15-16-16-36, ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3090, SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 2280 1TB x 3, Corsair HX Series HX1000 Watt PSU, Pimax Crystal LIght.
