November 2, 20223 yr I was running out of space on my 500GB dedicated Flightsim SSD so I decided to buy a 1TB SSD and clone the first drive over to it. The cloning went without issue and I swapped the new drive into place, added the unallocated space and changed the volume letter to match the original. The drive is seen by windows 11 and I can browse the files normally but when I launch MSFS I get the following message: Microsoft Flight Simulator can’t open because it is offline. The storage device might be missing or disconnected. Can anybody help?
November 2, 20223 yr If you can, rename the new SSD and reinstall the old SSD. Start MSFS... If that works, copy the entire LocalCache\Packages folder to the new SSD. Edit the last line of the LocalCache\UserCfg.opt file to point to the new SSD location. Start MSFS again.. if that works, you have a working config with most of the data that takes up space on the new SSD. Now, you can delete the LocalCache\Packages folder from the original SSD, freeing up space. Edited November 2, 20223 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
