Lost for words with FSX and Vista-Thanks Phil and ACES and Markus

Just went and got myself a new PC after quad core prices fell,Got a Q6600 8300GS(Crap,I know) 2Gig RAM (Vista) for less than my now ancient computer (PIII 1GHz) cost 6 years back. After struggling to run either FS9 or FSX earlier, the sim is just blowing my mind now!For those dithering about whether to purchase FSX I would say DON'T unless you can get a system that can run it.Thankfully,FINALLY this won't break the bank! Here's some differences I note.Absolutely smooth experience-nearly X-plane like but better overall IMHOFantastic ILS capture unlike FS9.Totally new graphical sim experience, all good! The only issue is blurries in the intermediate distance-I am positive this will be a temporary inconvenience-Fly at night guys,or in bad weather! The OOM I was getting is cured completely with that genius like fix posted earlier by Markus.Keep up the good work everyone!Cannot imagine what would happen if Microsoft stopped developing this sim or if our community got disillusioned and gave up on it-IMHO this symbiosis deserves to be nurtured and to survive-nothing else comes this close to give an affordable, realistic experience of flight for the common man.The route to enjoying FSX has been a pleasant one for me!Jay

Congrats on the new computer/sim experiece!>The OOM I was getting is cured completely with that genius like fix posted earlier byWhat fix? Sounds like something I should try!

Congrats Jay!I felt the same when I setup my duo system. FSX is amazing, but only on new hardware.Try adding the mipbias=6 line, to your config should clear up the blurries at a slight smoothness cost panning, and I had to use nHancer to get AA to work properly too.See:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=410425&page=
