First off apologies to all those that know but this is for people who didnt(like myself).I must have been living under a rock for the last few years and having to just deal with the dark cockpits in P3Dv5.3(even with the HDR fix).

Then today i finally sorted it,Nvidia Control Panel turn the brightness up from 50% to 70%,job done, lighter cockpits and the QW787 can now come out of retirement, seriously guys sorry to all the simmers who knew about

this, hopefully this will help those who didnt.

Makes everything brighter, of course.  All things NOT P3d are brighter, like desktop and various other programs and websites.  This may not appeal to everyone.  However, I would accept a compromise setting of 60.  I find that more acceptable in my particular situation.  It is certainly an individual choice depending on your monitor and system overall.

Auto Exposure option in 'Lighting' part of P3D settings helps a lot
