My perfect MSFS Ingamepanel for VFR in VR

Featured Replies

I can only presume that very few people like to fly the way I do as all the EFB's I've tried are full of features yet lack the simple interface I've been after since day one. So, I wrote my own, building on the LNM web server and the Openlayers mod. Basically this is for people who like old school dead reckoning and a little VOR/NDB. I don't want to see my plane on the map as that takes the fun out of trying to navigate myself. I do want a flight plan to remind me of the legs with direction/distance and expected duration. I also need a very simple stop watch that isn't too fiddly to start/stop. Not a big deal in 2D but a neat option has eluded me in VR.

Also, being in VR I don't want to clutter my cockpit with multiple panels, hence this nice fast interface in a single panel. I faked this demo in a browser but it works perfectly in MSFS in VR.

If there is anyone else who is interested in this I'll explain how I did it and share my mods.

This is very interesting - I fly in VR and also like to do a mix of dead reckoning and VOR/NDB but don't like to have a map tell me my exact position and also don't like going in/out of VR to look at external maps.

Hello SPIT40, I just came across your post as I subscribed to Navigraph yesterday to make use of VFR traffic patterns in VR. Just to discover Navigraph doesnt have these charts for the small fields. NONE! SO back to Navigraph to disable my subscription. Looking for this simple and intuitive panel in VR that shows me the airport charts. Any luck on your mods maybe? Thank in advance! best regards Rudy
