Looking forward to a good simulation of the TPE331's instead of just another PT6. And I can assume with Nick, one will have to operate the geared GTSIO's properly or break them... It's been too long since there was a Twin Commander of any kind in the main sim.

I've never had the problem you are describing but I've had two Pimax Crystals and in both cases I had problems with the headset losing connection with the software that were related to USB power settings. I make sure to change all the related USB power settings in Device Manager so Windows won't shut them off to save power. Probably unrelated, but throwing it out there in the off chance it helps you in some way.

Pretty sure Nick has disabled visible copilots in all his 2024 aircraft due to lack of the ability to control the size and position enough to keep them from clipping into things or otherwise looking out of place. I think the JustFlight forums have some notes on how to modify the ini files to enable them yourself but I'm pretty sure they are all disabled by default. I think he's left the options in the tablet in case things improve and he can enable them to meet his standards.

I used a Valve Index for a long time, then 'upgraded' to a Bigscreen Beyond, which I ended up giving away and going back to the Index. I've had two Pimax Crystals and I agree, there is a trade-off that a super-wide FOV could also degrade quality. I avoided the Ultrawide Crystal for that reason even though it was tempting. I ended up with the 50ppd Crystal Super and am happy with it. It has a super-wide mode but the quality and overlap are disagreeable to me so the 50ppd Crystal for me is about the best of both worlds for me with current headsets. They have a 57ppd as well, and I'm sure the picture quality is great but I didn't want the FOV loss.

If you are new to VR I'd pay close attention to the FOV. Some people are not bothered by low FOV but I've gotten burned by one headset that had better resolution but poor FOV compared to an earlier one. I ended up giving it away and going back to my older headset until I got one of my Pimax sets that I'm currently using. Once I had good FOV I could not go back to feeling like I was looking through binoculars with low FOV. Now I look at horizontal and vertical FOV closely when looking into new headsets.

I look forward to the 208 as well. Love everything from BS. Fly the 208 all the time, as well as the TBM and the Turbine Bo. But the ones I am waiting for even more than the 208 are the Aero Commanders. Can't wait for a well modeled Honeywell to play with, though I'm guessing with all Nick has on his plate it might be a while. Hope the 208 comes soon. :-)

Props to Nick for another amazing aircraft. What he can do mostly alone is amazing.

My understanding is that until this update there was a code problem with RPN integer division affecting over 1000 variables in the Black Square aircraft. Nick wasn't going to work around that and then have to revert once the underlying code was fixed. I understand there have been obvious bugs with things like the barometer setting that I think may now be fixed. I'm curious if after this update you notice that while they may have been working adequately before if they are working better now with the integer division fixed? On a related note I think Nick is also planning to enhance most planes while also updating them to officially work with the new sim. I think the King Air is supposed to be getting a big update.

Looks like they fixed the bug that was preventing the Black Square aircraft from getting updated. Hopefully they'll get updated soon now.

I think there are some posts on the Just Flight forums that talk about this. I understand Nick/Black Square know of the issues and even how to fix it but I understand the underlying problem is broken code on the Asobo end. Nick could fix it now but would have to fix it back again once Asobo fixes the code problem and it involves 1000's of code changes on all of his aircraft. So there is a wait for the Asobo fix first which to date has not yet happened but which I understood has been turned in to them.

Nick has also just updated the TBM850 and Velocity XL. He is amazing in what he accomplishes.

I use historical weather all the time now. No more flying on the other side of the world and having coastal fog and low temperatures in the middle of the afternoon.
