Short Flight in the Arctic

Featured Replies

Today I dusted off the Aerosoft Twin Otter and went for a short one hour flight in the Canadian Arctic from Iqaluit (CYFB) to Pangnirtung (CYXP).

It's a beautiful day up there with clear skies and light cloud for the one hour flight.  Temperature was a little chilly though, -35C on the ground at CYXP.

Here are a couple of shots after touchdown at Pangnirtung.  I would imagine the cliff you can see behind me would make for some interesting wind conditions on final...winds were pretty calm today.

I have to say I quite enjoyed flying the Twotter, it has come a long way since release and I'll be making a point of getting some more hours in it.

Nice shots Dave.  I had Aerosoft's Twin Otter in P3D and used it a lot.  Who makes this one and does everything actually function in the cockpit?

Thanks!  Same company, Aerosoft.  Everything I needed for regular flight seemed to work…I think the level of simulated detail is similar to the P3D version.
