Spitfires over the Med

Spitfires over the Med

Starting from Malta, the route proceeds to the west with a landing at Lampedusa (LICD), then continues west to the Tunisian coastal city of Monastir and a landing at Habib Bourguiba (DTMB).   Continuing along the African coastline to Hammamet (DTNH), then overland to Carthage (DTTA) and the capital city Tunis.   The route turns back to the east and out over the Med to Capitano Pilota Italo D'Amico (LICG) on the island of Pantelleria.  The final leg proceeds north the island of Sicily and our destination airport of Punta Raisi (LICJ) near Palermo which we shall overfly before landing.

Flightplan: HERE

Aircraft:  The route is 463 nm and we will want a cruise speed of 250knts.  The Spitfire is most appropriate as they were based in Malta.  Any warbird will do just fine as well.  The legs are long enough to provide opportunities to test your formation flying skills.  Those who have the FlyingIron Spitfire may enjoy the recent refinements made in the 1.3.1 update.  As always you are free to fly what you like.

OK... I got the Spitfire and took it for a first circuit.. neat airplane! 🙂

Question: How do I close the canopy?

Edit: Found it...   https://help.flyingironsimulations.com/support/solutions/articles/51000211185-my-canopy-or-door-doesn-t-move-

Why that did not make into the manual.... maybe I was supposed to know this from XPlane 😉

Bert, I'm sorry to say that it took me a bit longer than you to find the solution. 🙄

I was testing Sky Dolly last night and managed to capture this landing of mine.
