General Question

Recommended Posts

I'm a PC user.  I'll be moving from P3D to MSFS.  Is there any difference in the MSFS Store Xbox/PC program offered and the Steam program other than the ability to operate with Xbox on the MSFS Store program?  Any recommendations and/or comments?

No difference in the sim.

Some prefer buying / managing their content via Steam (especially if they use that platform for other sims and games).    Others prefer the MS direct route.

Take your pick. 🙂

As Bill says above, not much in it really.

I have the MS store version and it was a bit of a pain initially, especially during updates, but it has all settled down quite nicely now.  No real problems and I am quite happy with it..

I have Steam as well for other titles, so I am not biased either way.

I forget why I selected the store for MSFS initially, but there were reasons.  I think the updates came through quicker to the store initially, but it seems the steam updates happen at the same time now.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I wouldn't swear to this in court. But I believe the Steam version and the Microsoft Store version are absolutely identical in coding.

Withdrawn: the folder structure is different.

Pretty sure the store was available sooner at launch or it was the one downloading anyway... hahahha.

The updates were days and days sooner on the store back then too.
