VCRUNTIME140.dll CTD Since WU12

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

Anyone else seeing a CTD since yesterday's update caused by the VCRUNTIME140.dll ? My sim has been rock solid since I built this PC in the Fall

I had this twice today, once in the A310 with a clean Community folder and just now on the 2nd flight of the day in the PMDG 737

In my community is the following:

AFC_Bridge

FSLTL

Navigraph Data

PMDG 737-600

Thank you,

I did run a similar set of commands this morning, I will have to compare these ones.

I have also downloaded the latest versions of both X86 & X64 of Visual C++

I noticed that I actually have 2 different versions of Visual C++ installed, should I uninstall all of them replacing with just the latest ones I downloaded or is there a need to have multiple versions?

Keep the versions you have installed 2005, 2008, 2010, 2013 etc...

You only have 2 versions installed? I have 12 versions. Which would be all of the versions (x86 and x64) from 2005 to 2015-2022. Why do I have all those versions installed? Because many programs written in Visual C++ target a specific version of the Visual C++ Redistributable packages. With all of them installed, I don't have to worry about not having a needed package installed when I download some older bit of software.

You can find an all in one package here: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/

Thanks Jim,

I am still doing a bit of maintenance right now. I will take a look at the link

The weird thing is I was flying all day before I did the upgrade, multiple legs with zero issues. I did WU12 and spawned in at Auckland airport in the A310 and 5 minutes after taking of had the first CTD. Yesterday I flew a 3 hour leg in the PMDG this time in Europe with no issues, around 2 hours in on the return leg had the second CTD. Hopefully it goes away as quickly as it came lol

I ran the commands you listed, the last 2 I didn't have on my list. It appears to have fixed whatever went sideways yesterday.

I flew the following legs in the PMDG 737, LEIB - EGKK, EGKK - LICJ, LICJ - EGPF without restarting the sim between (That was pretty much a full day's flying) and no CTD. I didn't even install the latest visual C++

Thank you once again

Richard

I make it a habit that after the sim updates I run those commands.
