March 6, 20233 yr Hi all. I have the above mentioned rudder pedals. I am finding that in certain planes (i.e. Darkstar Experimental), when I start down the runway, the rudder pedals are working for a moment, then they stop responding. Other planes they will tend to work fine. I havent tested that many planes yet, but I seem to remember reading something somewhere about that effect, the pedals working for a few moments and then stopping. In the case of the Darkstar, if I look at the pedals in the cockpit, it appears they are moving, however, the rudders on the plane are not responding to the movements. Any ideas? Thanks, as always, to this great group for help us newbies out :-). I thought that right away but that is not it. I checked everything with respect to controller settings. March 6, 20233 yr Are they actually stopping working, or is the plane no longer responding to them? Ground handling is still a mess for many of the MS planes and in the right wind condition it can seem like the pedals aren't working, but what's really happening is the plane is being turned by the wind and lacks control authority to counteract it because of the aforementioned bad ground handling. But the other possibility is that the axis itself is no longer responding, which means the sim has no way of knowing what your control inputs are. It's weird because when the plane starts running away on its own, I look down in the cockpit and the rudder pedals are moving but the plane is not responding to it. Or sometimes the rudder will move in one direction but not the other. March 6, 20233 yr Check your axis sensitivity. I discovered once that my rudder axes had somehow been changed to very dampened in one direction and very enhanced in the other, which had me weaving like crazy even in the 737 which has pretty good ground handling. Checked them, all good. Right now it seems the only plane I am having trouble with is the Darkstar Experimental, which I am just playing around with. Anyone played with that and can comment? I only messed with it once because, as the SR71 guys will tell you, straight and fast at FL80+ is neat to do for certain reasons, but it's not terribly exciting even in the way that low-level river flying in a Cub is. But the one time I went through the Top Gun scenario for it, I don't remember any particular runway handling issues on takeoff or landing.
