March 13, 20233 yr I think we can all agree that MSFS is desperately short of Rotax powered STOL bush planes (/s) so here's another one - the Flyboy Simulations Rans S6S. Comes in both nosewheel and tailwheel version and looks pretty decent in the pictures. https://secure.simmarket.com/flyboy-simulations-rans-s6s-msfs.phtml Anyone want to try it out and let us all know what you think ? 🙂
March 13, 20233 yr There is a Maule coming soon. Will probably wait for that first. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
March 13, 20233 yr Just bought and tested out the taildragger variant. Great Flight model, Flies convincingly for a high wing bush plane(one of the high points). It uses the asobo savage cub soundset. The textures and modeling of the airframe and cabin are up to msfs standards. They even animated the canopy blinds in a really intuitive way in that they dynamically fold in accordion style. The avionics is just merely the msfs aera. They included a gopro camera in the back of the cab which is basically an extra view with a clickspot, pretty neat. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any change in audio when opening the doors. They included a brake creaking noise which could be done away with in my opinion. The glareshield lighting also doesn't appear to be on from the external view. If you own or are interested in planes like this and you have some extra cash I would definitely recommend it. That is hoping it is not like the many planes that are released and abandoned. For a fresh release I am absolutely satisfied.
March 22, 20233 yr I caved and I'm glad I did - this is really good! Modelling and textures are first class and she flies beautifully. I have lots of this 'type' already but this type is right up my street and I think this is up there with the best of them. It's obviously a real labour of love as well. I'm very impressed. Good review here - https://msfsaddons.com/2023/03/18/review-the-rans-s6s-is-an-excellent-debut-from-newcomer-developer-flyboy-simulations/ Edited March 22, 20233 yr by St Mawgan 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
March 22, 20233 yr @St Mawgan That's my mind made up then. I will get it for the weekend. The price is very reasonable as well. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's. Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.
March 22, 20233 yr I've only had it for a couple of days but I think I already prefer this to the KitFox which feels more like a younger (and more impatient) mans aircraft now 🙂 This one is sloooooow but she is one of those aircraft that just feels right somehow. Plus I'm always happy to support a new developer who comes out of nowhere and produces great work. I hope development continues as mentioned in the review. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
