CS 767-300 ER Textures.

Featured Replies

I bought the CS 767-300ER 4D and 6D models from the marketplace. I went on to flightsim.to, to download some textures that are pretty much straight forward and easy to install. I've tried so many and for some reason, it's not working for me with CS models. When buying any planes from msfs, it loads into the official folder but you can move it to the community folder on which I did. Do you have any suggestions on how to make this work? Thanks for your time.

You don't need to move the plane from the official folder to the community folder,the files in the official folder are encrypted so they won't work in the community folder. What you have to do is simply place the downloaded repaint folder in your community folder and then the repaint will show up in sim. Installing repaints is different in MSFS vs previous simulators,no CFG editing to do either.

Hi Z06,

                  Well I did put those 2 folders ( CS 767-300)  back in the Official Folder and placed the texture folder in the Community folder like I have for my other a/c.  It's pretty easy except for CS.  I have always taken the textures from flightsim.to and had no problems with the other planes.  I think CS has sometype of block on textures from the website.  It very strange to me though.

Did you follow all steps in case of issues?

INSTALATION:
 Extract into your community folder.
 If youre having issues with a black middle fuselage. Open the model.cfg located in:\Community\captainsim-aircraft-m763\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS763ER_PW_6D\model
 Change the text to the following.

; Reference LOD implementation, please keep these comments (for now).

[model.options]
; if true, when showing the exterior, also show the interior model (default true)
withExterior_showInterior=true
; if true, when showing the interior with the exterior, exclude interior.lod.0 (default false); only has an effect when withExterior_showInterior is true
withExterior_showInterior_hideFirstLod=false
; when showing the interior, force showing lod0 (default true)
withInterior_forceFirstLod=true
; when showing the interior, also show the exterior model (default false)
withInterior_showExterior=true

[models]
exterior=m763_301.xml
interior=m763_301_interior.xml

To activate winglets. Open the m763_301.xml file. Scroll to the bottom to the winglet caterogry and change the >0< to >1<.

Hello Polo,

            I don't have a black middle fuselage.   I bought this plane on the Marketplace in msfs.  They both came without winglets and it was loaded in the Offical folder via steam. Here's the location.

C:\Users\izzi0\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam\captainsim-aircraft-p863

I cant find the .xml file at all.

To activate winglets. Open the m763_301.xml file. Scroll to the bottom to the winglet caterogry and change the >0< to >1<.

Hello @izzi , I don't have this add-on installed in MSFS, It comes to my mind, the news of a great controversy about freeware textures in the CS 767, could be that in a more recent update, CS has changed something to make freeware textures not compatible. Curious thing, no users reported incompatibility issues in FlightSim.to site comments section.

They are at it again.  After trying to get the freeware liveries banned from FS.to, they have now made it really difficult for painters.
It looks like they are selling their own repaints on their site for quite a bit of money, so it is a conflict of interests I suppose.  They don't want free competition!

Their comments about freeware paints...>

1. ALL of them use a model hack which:
– Damages the exterior nose section (the ugly cockpit roof bumps appears, broken pilots’ windows area, missing windshield glass and frames).
– FPS drop 30-50% guaranteed.

2. Most of them are made from outdated P3D 4K liveries which gives you four times less detalization compared to official CS 8K liveries.

3. Some of them painted over official CS 8K liveries compressed dds files which gives you very questionable quality.

4. Most of the so called 8K free liveries are in fact a stretched older 4K which just wastes your PC resources providing zero visual improvement.

5. Most of them use the wrong engine type (PW for GE) and/or door layout.

6. Most of them have technical and factual errors (wrong colors, logos, missing items, layouts, reg numbers, antennas, winglets, you name it).

One reply in the comments that I simply had to copy over...

  “Most of them use the wrong engine type (PW for GE) and/or door layout.”  This is rich coming from a company who released a 777 complete with default 747 avionics. :laugh:

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Apparently this is the general opinion.

I gave up on this plane a while ago, looks good but thats about it.  Masterrob/Horizon was working on a fix to the weight and payload and fix some displays like they did with the CS777.  I think they are still working on it.  One thing I have learned about captain scam is you never want to update.  Because then the fantastic fixes that people did on flightsim.to stop working or get wonky.  A lot of the developers fixing and integrating FBW are giving up on them too because they dont want to encourage people to buy sub par stuff like CS and LVFR.  At Least LVFR has stepped up their game and has started doing their own work.  Thier A320 actually had a bit above and beyond the standard asobo cockpit.

Once we get Phoenix a319s and A321s and PMDG 777 i can throw away these piecemeal place holder hack job airplanes.

But to answer your question CS did something to make those repaints not work.  The authors will have to figure it out and fix it.

And CS...  If they want people to buy thier repaints at least give us current liveries of stuff we actually want to fly.  No new United livery or ANA or JAL is even available...
