Well you got the card to match the monitor/tv  Resolution so i cant recommend upping the renderscale in this scenario like we usually do when the card is overpowered for the monitor resolution.. So yep .. I would recommend selling your CPU in the used market and trying really hard to get that 5800X3D. That's your best bet. 

If someone else has a better idea then hopefully they chime in ...

I actually do not use FSR2 because at my resolution 3440x1440 my card is ever so slightly overpowered for my system. I actually increase the resolution for the card to push more pixels out and give it work to do so it doesn't sit waiting on the cpu which results in a lag spike because the card is waiting on the cpu to process. FSR 2 makes the work easier on the card .. which is not what i want. So my configuration is going in the opposite direction renderscale 115% +  TAA

I personally prefer running the sim in DX 12 mode because there are measurably less lag spikes in DX12 with my present hardware configuration .. the tradeoff however is that although my sim will feel smoother i gave up a few frames from the max average number ( 3 to 5)  and some airports ground textures may have  some texture bleed through. ( DX12 is still beta after all)

If youre ok with those tradeoffs then give it a try. 

I will try it tomorrow,used today DX11 with TAA.
