Why does GSX not load PAX today?

Featured Replies

First at LFPO I was not offered the choice to load Pilot/Crew so no bus arrives for either Pilot/Crew and PAX, yet it quickly audibly began loading PAX but no PAX appeared.  After a reboot AND running the FSDT installer/live update, off to LFPG, same same and the jetway did not connect.  I tried to log into FSDT forum but alas the forgot password email link to reset does not arrive:

That's usually a scenery issue. Some jetways on some sceneries are badly placed or the parking positions are not correctly set up or parking spots are too big/small for your aircraft or the scenery has not been recompiled with the latest SDK or or or...
Make sure to re-position at your current gate (via GSX) before boarding, this helps in some cases. Otherwise not much you (or GSX) can do, some devs just don't always adhere to the SDK instructions while creating an airport.
That said, it happens rarely (maybe 1 out of 30 times). What happens more often (about 1 out of 5 times) is that the jetways disconnects mid-boarding and pax walk in the air. Again, the same scenery / jetway issue.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

About the FSDT forum supposedly not sending your lost password, be sure it's the email hasn't been filtered as Spam. The password reset function surely works, I can assure that.

About passengers not showing, this has been discussed so many times, and it's obvious from your screenshot: if the jetway doesn't connect correctly (either partially or not at all), passengers won't be displayed. GSX has a message telling you exactly that, but you might miss it if you closed the menu from the Toolbar instead of closing it with the Hotkey, which would result missing all text messages from GSX.

So, the real problem is the jetway that doesn't connect, the invisible passengers are just a side-effect of it.

Jetways in MSFS are not controlled by GSX, which simply sends the standard key command to toggle a jetway. Whether the jetway would work or not, it only depends by the sim itself, as a result of a combination of the airplane used, and how it's parked.

About LFPG, there's an extra issue, and it's a conflict caused by the Asobo Volocopter scenery, for some reason, it affects Jetways at LFPG and LFPO, so it must be disabled.

Thanks I probably need to try a 3rd airport because at Orly before LFPG the same thing happened and the completely new part was the prompt something to the effect, "do you want to load Crew, Pilot, Both" never happened, the plane just started loading, and this happened at both airports, and despite 100's of flights using GSX, this never happened before for me.

First thing I checked but no joy.  So I tried again, but no joy.  Maybe I never registered at FSDT's forum--in that case, when a password reset is requested, does coding state it's not aware of the email address?

Addendum:  I just checked, yes my email is known as previously registered, but the link to reset password is not showing up.  If I recall I went thru this before and thesame thing happened so I ended up posting here.

Is that done thru the GSX interface, settings or what have you?

Thank you kindly

No, you must remove it from the MSFS Content Manager.

The GSX Config page is only used to disable sceneries that have a Jetway replacement file in GSX, but you have a 3rd party scenery for that airport, to prevent GSX jetways that are meant to be used on default sceneries to show up at 3rd party sceneries, which will surely cause issues due to different parking assignments.

Umberto, thanks for a fabulous product and effort.  Though it's not perfect it's really good and the animations look great:spacer.png

I mentioned this before and maybe you missed it or just decided against the suggestion, but I think it would be cool to have GSX objects fade-in, versus suddenly appear when activated and fade-out when completed. Minor thing but I think it would be nicer than having the abrupt full morph.

Also, I've tried to get on FSDT forum but alas the password retrieval action doesn't want to work for me.  Checked the junk/spam folder, no joy.  Maybe you could remove my email as a user ([email protected]) as it won't let me create a new account as my email is already in use.
