Prepar3d V6 Compatibility

The weird thing is, that MCE shows the exact same issue if i run P3D 5.4. Though it´s may not an issue caused by a different structure in V6, rather then it´s confused about two SIM versions in parallel. I could imagine, that MCE would work properly, if i wipe V5 out of my system, but i won´t do that for now.

It's possiblle.

I have to correct myself regarding the file MCE looks-up in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\ folder. It's "Addons-cfg" rather that "Simobjects.cfg"

And the section to add isn't entry.X, but rather

[Package.N]
PATH=Add_path_to_Jeehell
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=false

N is the next number in sequence

To summarize, MCE looks first in the root flight sim it detects (assuming it's detected correctly)

Then C:\Users\Appdata\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D vX\SimObjects.cfg

Then \My Documents\Prepar3D vX Add-ons\ folder (for whatever P3D sim version it has detected

And finally C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D vX\Addons-cfg

X can be 4, 5 or 6 and whatever later.

Since we don't perform graphics operations within the sim (MCE running as an external process), I can confirm now, we WILL have a fully Prepar3D V6 compatible MCE version in a few days. Just a few tweaks required here and there like showing spoken speech commands and checking Native ATC interface is the same as with V5 & V4. The menu is already restored.

I have added the Jeehell Airbus into the Simobjects folder at the root location of P3D and then MCE finds the Aircraft as usual and everything seems working properly. This can be used as a workaround for the moment, until you may adapt MCE, that it can find add-ons outside the Rootfolder again as it did in V5.

You can now download the revised version that is fully compatible with Prepar3D V6

Hi Gerald,

the latest build of MCE works well in P3D V6 and even the Option of Call the Crew is now within the Mainmenu in the add-on coloum. But it can´t retrieve the Aircraftdata still in case the Jeehell AIrbus is not present in the P3D rootfolder in Simobjects. Jeehell and it´s aircraft model is also added via the autodiscover xml into P3D. That worked so far with V5.4 but not anymore in both 5.4 and V6

Bernd

P3D V6 -  PC spec: Intel i9-9900 overclocked 5 GHz HT off, 32 GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX3090 24GB, 2xM2 SSD, Skalarki HomeCockpit and Jeehell FMGS on a dedicated Server, PF3 for ATC, MCE, GSX, EFB, AS+ASCA+ENV and OrbXpf3-supporter.gif

Add this section to "Add-on.cfg in  both C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\ folder and it should find it.

Do the same for V6 in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v6\

[Package.N]
PATH=Add_path_to_Jeehell_Simobject_folder
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=false

MCE never looks at the autodiscover.xml file.
