Welcome to sunny Clacton (EGSQ)!

From the same guy that produced Audley End as seen in my previous post, here is another lovely little airstrip in Essex - Clacton (EGSQ - https://flightsim.to/file/55625/clacton-airfield-egsq)

Looks pretty bare initially

but when you get up the other end it's packed with really nice detail, and all the critters, including the people, are animated so a wonderful place to just wander around

It all has a really nice "lazy Sunday afternoon" vibe to it

So while we're here, let me introduce you to Clacton town itself. Not a big place, but nicely modelled in MSFS

Candy Floss and whelks probably available on the pier. Seaside piers pre-date haute cuisine. Although Elf and Safe-T (those two modern villains) may have managed to eradicate all that by now.

The pier is also an addon - https://flightsim.to/file/22886/clacton-pier-clacton-onsea-essex-england-handcrafted-for-msfs, one of a number of UK piers available, and this one has animated roundabouts as well. If you nose around on .to you can find all sorts of little goodies like this, and it all adds a whole extra layer of immersion if you like to get down low and explore. And I've gotten so used to things like all the pylons and birds and other stuff I rarely remember that they are all addons too.

Just as I was settling in to while away a sleepy afternoon at that lovely rural airstrip, you took us to the seashore...so now I'm torn. Thanks for bringing both these places to life!

What a quaint and lovely place this is.

Another gem you have found here for us Andy.

The bonus of Clacton town and pier too.

I have never been to this part of England so I think I will have to do some exploring .

Please keep them coming!

Cheers John. Lots of quiet little gems in this part of the world.

Thanks Jack. In reality, run down and grubby is probably nearer the mark, I suspect (the town, at least).

Thanks Martyn. Plenty more places to explore, but I might take a break and go somewhere different for the next batch. I'll be back around here at some point though, maybe I'll run up the coast in a boat next.
