July 27, 20232 yr Hello all, I flew a good flight on Monday and shut down normally. On Wednesday I opened MSFS and was given a mandatory update (approx 300GB) which I downloaded and installed, after renaming my contents folder. Since then I have been totally unable to load MSFS. It gets to about 75% and locks up with the only way to get out of the programme is to un-task it.(Ctl/Alt/Del) Sounds familiar you say. Yep. However, I have not used the google replacement for about 12 months. I did, however, go the windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts to check and there is absolutely no 127 .0.0 item there other than a blank example. I deleted that but it reloads automatically. I uninstalled MSFS, renamed my contents folder and re-installed MSFS. I still have the same problem. All googling indicates the roots folder as mentioned so I am somewhat nonplussed and I would like to be plussed LOL Regards and thanks in anticipation Tony Chilcott Tony Chilcott. My System. July 27, 20232 yr I'm stuck on the "mandatory update (approx 300GB)". I have Premium Deluxe and my entire Official folder is 283GB. Are you certain the update was 300GB, or was it 300MB? i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB
July 27, 20232 yr Author somiller, Mate, as stated it was about 300 .... it was, however, a fairly quick download so you may well be correct. I too have premium deluxe and my combined community and official folders are 815GB (just measured it as you raised my curious nature) All of that, however, does not help me with my predicament. This is so similiar to the google replacement scenery (when MSFS not turned off correctly ie after the google programme) so I am unsure of what you may be getting at. I am very sure that Google is not the problem as indicated in the original post. Thanks for your response mate. Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard.
