A320 Fenix - Completing the PERF page engages the approach

Featured Replies

Hello,

After leaving it, I took control of the A320 Fenix again.

During the cruise phase, I fill in the PERF page: Qnh, temp, wind, alt (Radio or Baro) before the TOD and I notice after several flights that this engages the APPR (approach) mode.

Is this normal? Looks like he didn't do that before. maybe I changed a setting. Would you have an opinion? Thanks in advance.

Config : AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3DMSI PRO B850-S WIFI6E - RAM G.Skill 2 x 32 Go DDR5 6000 MHz CL30 - MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G VENTUS 3X OC PLUS - 2 WQHD (2560x1440) screens and only one of which is for MSFS

Nope, never happened to me during cruise. Have to press "Activate Approach" to activate approach mode or fly over the red dot waypoint that's usually about 15 miles before the airport.

I think if your approach, in hilly terrain goes below 1500 AGL, it will switch to approach mode.

It seems that you are accidentally activating APP phase manually during descent preparation flow,  in order to reverse this you have to re-insert the CRZ ALT in the PROG page.

I've found. The problem comes from the "pilot" and not from the A320 Fenix.

Explanations:
1/ to access the different FCU modes via the keyboard, I use "LorbyAxisAndOhs" and I have assigned, among other things, the [F5] key to the [APPR] function.
2/ For flights I use two screens: the first for MSFS 2020, the second for Simbreif, Metar, maps, etc.

For information, in Firefox the update of the page is done via the keyboard shortcut [F5]. So, when entering the Qnh in the PERF, I change the screen, I click on the METAR Internet page and I do a refresh with [F5] and there "LorbyAxisAndOhs" which is in the background sending despite everything the information to the A320 Fenix and the [APPR] mode is activated discreetly but surely.

Thank you all for helping me and above all making me think, it allowed me to find my mistake.
