I did end up buying the Wingflex combo cube back in July. But I also bought the MCDU from Winctrl because of the very low price. So I've been using both the companies Discords and seeing what support is like. Wingflex is much better customer support from what I've seen over the last couple of months. Wingflex released their gear panel recently so I bought it. I asked if they could add an option to the software (Terr On Capt) and they added it in on the next software update 👍.

If it's mainly for flight sim, then you want the biggest monitor you can accommodate. I've been using a 48" TV as my main monitor for the last five years. It's OLED, variable refresh, 120HZ so image quality is really good.

I've been using the "VKB Gunfighter IV ‘Modern Combat Edition’ Ultimate" for about 18 months now. It's a full metal stick using quality components and will last a lifetime but it is very expensive. For a similar price you can get the Moza AB9 force feedback base and the plastic flightstick or spend a bit more for the metal flightstick. It's unlikely to last as long as the VKB but you might get more enjoyment out of it.

Yes, I remember that you used to be able to see the aircraft and the navigation lights. Now the aircraft are invisible unless it's quite close. Sometimes you see a contrail but no aircraft at the end of it.

I was using Windows volume controls to reduce the volume of the cockpit when I reached cruise. Then I found out that a setting in the Fenix EFB lets you assign the radio volume knobs to different apps. So now I use the VHF3 volume knob to reduce the sound.

Tried the Glass Out demo. On my system it seems a little bit more efficient when increasing the number of pop outs. So for four pop outs (Fenix ND, PFD ECAM upper/lower), I lose about 6 FPS the old way and with Glass Out I lose about 4 FPS. So actually that's 50% more efficient if I'm losing 1.5 FPS per pop out the old way and 1 FPS per pop out with Glass Out !

I will need to try this out. Bought a very cheap 15.6" portable monitor from AliExpress recently and was experimenting popping out displays in the Fenix. I was losing about 3 FPS. The last time I tried popping out a display was in MSFS 2020 and I was losing 15 FPS ! I'll give Glass Out a go.

What are Wingflex customer services like ? I want to buy an FCU/EFIS and Wingflex combo unit (includes RMP) is currently on sale for $467. The individual Winctrl units come out to $394. I'd pay the bit extra for Wingflex if quality and service are better.

I used a pushback app in the past that had voice control. I think it was "FS2Crew Pushback Express". It would be cool if GSX added voice control for its pushback.

I bought the Orion 32 rudder pedals from Winctrl but avoided getting anything else from them in case something went wrong and I had to deal with their customer services (I heard the stories !). Don't think much can go wrong with rudder pedals so thought it was worth the risk. Stick and throttle I purchased from VKB. Virpil were always out of stock but VKB are just as good and have stuff in stock.

I got a disconnect yesterday when I switched to premium voices so I switched back to local voices. Local voices work fine, no disconnects.

I installed the basepack and then everything tagged as an airline. It comes out to 55GB and 44,000 files. msfs2024 is much faster at loading than 2020. Takes under 2 minutes to load in and that includes GSX which is over 40,000 files as well.

I can see the Postimages image but the Imgur images are just a big purple rectangle with the words "content not viewable in your region".

Tried this yesterday. When you download and run AIG Manager, it updates itself and a window pops up asking you to select an oci folder location. If you do this, the "download basepack" button will disappear. This is sure to catch out new users and maybe lead them start downloading one of the oci packs instead which would take a long time. The basepack took me under 10 minutes to download.

When starting a sim session, I launch Flow from the toolbar which activates Flow and disables the toolbar. I can then open flow from the keyboard spacebar or a button on my controller whenever I need it. So it's not really a big deal that it doesn't auto start. I've reported the issue anyway.

The option "Auto start Flow" doesn't work for me either. All the other options work fine though.

A couple of years ago the Fenix had an issue where it was hard to see the displays if the sun was shining on them. I wrote a little Flow Pro script which when you hovered your mouse over the widget and scrolled your mouse wheel up, every display in the Fenix would get brighter and when you scrolled the mouse wheel down every display would get dimmer.

I'm parked at Athens, Greece airport and had a look at the aircraft parked next to me. Nose gear disappears at about 4 gates away and main gear disappears at about 6 gates away from me. Graphics is set to the Ultra pre-set, models are FSLTL.

After take-off, it was trying to vector me to the first waypoint on the IFR flight plan.

I was getting a bit annoyed with all the vectoring instructions today. Do you think this is a bit too much:- 11:57 - turn left, heading 075 11:58 - turn left, heading 055 11:59 - turn right, heading 070 12:00 - turn right, heading 080 12:01 - turn left, heading 060

I bought their rudder pedals a couple of weeks ago, Orion 32. They work fine without having to install any Winctrl software.

Same thing happens with the VKB STECS controller.

I've watched all the vids on the new FSFO V6 now and have decided to stick with FS2Crew. A few things turned me off FSFO:- FSFO seems more configurable and has more functionality but that comes with added complexity and effort. The voices didn't seem as nice as FS2Crew. There was a requirement for additional programs (FSUIPC) to make it work. The UI takes up a lot more space and doesn't look very nice. FS2Crew has a toolbar app for VR users if I get a VR headset in the future.

Was a Fenix FS2Crew user for a couple of years. Coming back to flight sim after a several month break and was thinking should I re-install FS2Crew or try a different co-pilot app. For me it's more fun with a co-pilot app. I've been watching FSFO vids recently, the new V6 looks good, I might try it out instead of re-installing FS2Crew.
