How critical is it to go through all of the prep steps outlined by YouTubers like IslandSimPilot?

Oohhh they added Take Off Perf data and tactical descent support to the C-17

I never do that.  Just install it.

With Beta 1.7.24.0 and no update available. Should we leave the Beta to get the final and get the 1.7.27? As far as I remember, so far last Beta was the public one 😉

There's no harm in switching, but the beta branch will be updated eventually, it's always after the live branch.

Let me be suspicious with "There's no harm" and "eventually". So far, my 1.7.24 works like a charm (or so) 😉

It's incredible how bad this team is at optimization. MSFS 2020, and now 2024, have been horrendous in terms of the way it uses memory. At 4K with maxed out settings (5090, 9800X3D, 64GB DDR5) I experienced several CTDs as a result of "low virtual memory." Why the sim would ever need to use so much virtual memory but so little of my physical memory is a mystery. Increasing the page file to 32 GB solved the issue, but that should not be needed.

Hopefully they finally figured out how to optimize memory usage in SU5.

What ive noticed on my end is that i don't see other online players unless i leave the beta so i guess ill leave it and rejoin when the beta for SU6 drops.

I switched, it works fine. I am on Steam, not MS Store.

Yeah Betas sometimes run on different multiplayer servers because of the backend changes.

SU5 Aircraft updates may take time to roll out. A dev on the Milviz server posted about it in regards to the C17.

I'm aware .. However i was expecting to see other beta players that are on the same beta server... that has not been the case either.

I saw other beta users during last week's official community fly in.
