Sim Update 5 [1.7.27.0] Now Available | MSFS 2024

Featured Replies

I had reverted out of the beta 3 days ago to prepare. And flew a certain flight in SU4 four times. After this SU5 update the same flight had better fps and more stable fps. Which made trimming when flying low through the Alps less of a chore because everything was a little bit more stable.

This SU5 update is 1.7.27.0. If that's what you see at the top in windowed mode (alt enter), then you have the update installed.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

As a guy who spends every six months in Level D sims, the weather  in 2024 is miles better than how it looks in a real sim.  First off there is no live weather in a real sim, so it’s all presets.

Having read a number of pages on this post, I often get the impression some people on Avsim are more interested in complaining for the sake of complaining.  I just did 4 flights since SU5 came ou

I never do that.  Just install it.

Haha, the snow coverage in the Alps is still totally nuts using live weather, complete and utter nonsense. Five years into this and they still dont get it right, impressive. Glad the rest of the sim is fabolous, but this is really a point of shame for them. Bummer.

Parallel 42's Flow Pro causes the seconf menu button to become inop.

With second menu button, I mean MSFS2024 menu buttons for "Release Notes", "Configure" (Aircraft Selection Menu), etc.

There's practically zero weather updates in this SU5 aside the "Flight Model improvements for storm updrafts" which is essentially pointless when storms look so poor or don't appear at all, what we need is a proper weather update but Asobo seen very uninterested in anything to do with live weather.

Workaround for me was to use my Xbox Controler (A or X button) during the Beta phase. Let's wait for a Parallel 42 update.

I really don't understand asobo's total willingness to ignore all complaints about the weather.  Bothered me for a long time.  Whether it's massive wind shifts knocking out autopilot, or flying somewhere where it shows snow, but snow should only be on the mountain peaks in the distance.

For me Chase Plane seems to be causing a sound issue as well after the update- a periodic skip (about every 15 sec) in the sound set

EDIT: //42 had posted an SU5 update today that, among other things, resolves the sound issue

It comes with AAU4 which releases next week.

It being mentioned in the patch notes is a mistake.

It's a mistake Asobo keep making

Asobo, presumably at the instruction of MS, have a vision of how MSFS should be "played" and what features matter.

Gamification and funnelling people to the marketplace matter, other things not so much

I think it has to do with the old saying - weather is hard.

Don't forget to put dlss 310.6 back as the update reverts to dlss 310.1

It is with my greatest of gratitude I can announce that Chaseplane work in VR and switching between flatscreen/VR mode without a consistent CTD.

The stutters I used to experience in the menu have all but dissapeared, trying to end a flight would have stutters, that's pretty much dissapeared.

I haven't done a full flight but so far, to say I am happy is an understatement.

On a side note FSR3 is gone from the VR Graphics page, it's only an option for AA. I'll keep digging.

Is tobii eye tracker still works after update?

Hello @sd_flyer,

I can confirm that the Tobii Eye Tracker 5 is working properly in SU5 (I tested my own earlier today after updating), but please be advised that MSFS 2024 is now using the latest SDK from Tobii. At least in my case, I had to go into my Tobii hardware configuration settings from the Controls menu in the sim and re-adjust the sensitivity values to get it to where I wanted it. You may or may not need to do the same. Thankfully it took me less than five minutes of experimentation to lock in new settings that feel great for me.

Thanks,
