FPS and MegaScenery

Featured Replies

I thought I'd posted this before, but cant find it. Please forgive if it's a double post.I'm thinking of getting the MegaScenery Phoenix package. What kind of frame hit can I expect with this kind of detail scenery? What other scenery package would you suggest to improve the entire North American continent?

The Mega scenery Hawaii is a must have scenery! I spend more time flying there than anywhere else.ITs got great color and detail and good autogens to boot! So its fairly complete in that senseit has no negative effect on FPS. Manny

From my experience with Megascenery Hawaii it runs quite a bit faster than default scenry due to its lack of autogen. Its really very sparse even at the highest setting, which is why I mosty prefer default scenery with its lush and dense autogen. I mostly fly at extremely low alt and between the trees, so autogen is important for me. For me Megascenery would be much nicer if they actually packed in some autogen.

Your FPS should improve with Megascenery Phoenix. You may want to look at Ultimate Terrain X USA for the rest of the U.S.

IMO, I think the autogen kills the photo-look effect. Most major 3D buildings are still there; but we do away with cartoonville subdivions.Another excuse to use my well worn MegaScenery Hawaii pics: http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/179128.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/179129.jpg
