Hi Folks.

I'm needing a bit of techy help. I have a wireless dongle into a usb port on the front of my pc. It is used for my wireless keyboard and mouse and works well. I currently have a wired headset into the rear 3.5 mm jacks. My question is this, would that same dongle support two wireless headsets also? I have a buddy who has asked to 'sit in' on some flights with me. I would replace my wired headset with one of the wireless ones.

Cheers...Ken.

edit. It looks like Bluetooth settings in my pc is the answer. I'll investigate that further.

Perhaps this link will help: https://www.headphonesty.com/2020/07/use-two-headphones-pc-mac/#How_to_Use_Multiple_Bluetooth_Headphones_on_a_PC_or_Laptop
According to this, as long as your bluetooth adapter is v5 or better it could work.

A simple headphone splitter will work for wired connection and might be the most stable option, but wireless is perhaps more convenient.

I'd stay away from Bluetooth and go the RF method. Bluetooth is at times problematic, and will disconnect. RF game headphones are very good. I have two HyperX and love them: very long battery life and rechargeable.

Hi Folks. Thanks for those answers and the link. I'll do some more research. I'm not too techy, so RF?? Is that radio, like a walkie talkie? Would that still need a dongle type receiver? I'll check out thos Hyper X sets.

Regards...Kenny.

Yes, it uses a dongle.  I first had a logitech bluetooth headphone that kept disconnecting in the middle of a flight. My problems went away as soon as I switched to RF style headsets. Unlike RF, Blutooth requires a "connect" button to establish communication between the headset and the pc. If there's some interference, bluetooth connection becomes erratic. With RF, so long as the dongle is in the usb port, the headset will always work.

Hi, I'm thinking that will be two usb dongles, one for each headset. is that correct? I've been told that two wired headsets with a splitter will be more reliable, but I'm trying to reduce cable clutter, so perhaps the RF route would be better. There is a fair bit of info to take in.

Cheers...Kenny.

I'm convinced that the sennheiser RF headsets are by far the best. The Sennheiser RS 120 being a great choice. Better than the Sony line for instance.

The higher end Sennheiser RS line RF headsets are for hi-fi stereo music lovers. So is the 120 actually, but is maybe 1/3 the cost.

I have used Sennheiser RS line of RF headsets for 20 years.

Higher end being the RS 170, 180, 175, 190, 195, RS 160, etc. (some of these have been replaced by newer models). Some are open air, some are closed ear. The closed ear have better bass. The open air are brighter sounding. Youtube of course has reviews of these classic headsets.

EDIT: And they all recharge the same way. Take off headset and set it on the wire frame cradle. By induction it will recharge and won't overcharge. They use normal AAA rechargeable lithium cells, one cell in each earcup. To use, just pick up the phone and push the on/off button. And then the volume up button. You have to push both buttons like that to fire it up.
