How Not To Land a DC-3 .. or Stop it After Landing ...

Featured Replies

In my defense, the flaps would not stay out... must've botched up some switches around hydraulics or something messing with the parking brake lock in cruise..

Flying is all about speed control.  Speed was much too high for selecting flaps, so they would be damaged.  Final approach and attempted landing were at least 30 kts above typical DC3 speeds.

Thank you.

Interesting, I did not know Duckworks would have baked that in. Will definitely be more careful next. The reason I got so fast was pushing throttle with each notch of flaps as they slow you down a lot in that thing and want to avoid stalling...

Wild guess: with the latest DW mod could it be the blue lever needed for AP operation needs to be in the back position again for flaps to function properly? I never had that issue but I always did that automatically.

btw what addons are those "flight information" and "score" windows?

Yeah, I still do that too and I do think it's required.

I have Luke Air Tool on the top left and Self Loading Cargo on bottom right, if those are what you're referring to.
