October 28, 200619 yr Well, we were watching a movie about Egypt and the pyramids and in the credits they mentioned " Grip " and " Key Grip ". Does anyone know what these staff members do? They are in most all movies.JimCYWG

Their typical duties involve camera movement, lighting refinement, and mechanical rigging. In the UK, grips work exclusively with equipment that the camera is mounted on. November 10, 200619 yr These are also "old jobs" dating back many many years and mandated by union contracts still. Like a lot of industries, I would suspect some of these jobs are no longer needed. AND
