November 19, 20232 yr For curiosity, I was checking the Wiki for PMDG, a bit today. About 20 years ago, in 2003, they had released their first 737 SIM (on FS9), the (737-600/737-700) pair, setting the trend, for decades to come, for authenticity and fidelity for (desktop simulation), of the venerable Boeing 737. Some of us experienced ones (using a more polite term, here, for those ones...including yours truly...🙂...), who have doggedly stuck around with the hobby to the present day, might remember that momentous occasion. It feels strange that after 20 years, I am back to flying the same 737-600, in MSFS2020/Xbox, from the same maker, and today, my exhilaration from flying this variant was no less than what it was when I'd flown it for the first time, two decades ago. It's well-known that Xbox MSFS2020 has inherent limitations in terms of 3rd-party add-ons, but I was amazed how flawlessly this 737 offering from this esteemed maker, worked out for me today, on the first go, especially after my own significant break, from flying PMDG a/c, in any SIM. Triggered partly by the consummate 737-800 enthusiast, here, in this forum...Alaska738...🙂..., and partly due to my personal nostalgia for this (forgotten) Boeing 737 variant, I acquired it today (from the marketplace), just to test the (Xbox) waters, so to speak, this being the least expensive of the PMDG 737s available in Xbox. Download and installation was a breeze, and before I knew, I "Owned" it...🙂...with a message, "Now enjoy your PMDG 737"... However, to make my (virtual aviator's) life simple, on the first run, I have (conveniently) set the PMDG aircraft Options and Failures, to be "easy", but did opt to (gladly) take advantage of the PMDG HUD display configuration available for this -600 (see my images below). In my previous post, I'd travelled south from San Francisco to Santa Barbara, in a DHC-2 Beaver. For this post, I've now travelled north from San Francisco (KSFO) to Portland (KPDX), in my 737-600. This is a complete flight, aided by LNAV/VNAV functionality. Again, within my limited knowledge, there was no issue at all, from takeoff to touchdown...it was indeed great fun. And maybe one day...I'll move on to the (Xbox) 737-800...but, for now, there is plenty (novelty) in MSFS2020 Xbox to keep me occupied... The 737-600, the first member of the 3rd Generation 737, and the first member of the "Next Generation (NG)" series, got overwhelmed by its (contemporary) sibling, the ever popular 737-700, thanks mostly to Southwest....Nonetheless, as a virtual aviator and 737 lover, I've always had a soft spot for the -600...(surely one cannot but recall the WestJet and SAS 737-600s from the past SIMs...) ... Hope you enjoy this set of 14 pictures of this (lovable) B737 variant from my Xbox world...Thanks for viewing...!
November 19, 20232 yr Why not, for me it's one of the easiest airplanes of all to fly with a little practice. Learning by doing is the keyword.. The only thing I don't know is how the performance on the XBox compares to the PC because i am not using a XBox. Very nice shots by the way ! cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.

As PM said, it's an easy plane to fly and I wish you many happy hours in it 🙂 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

November 24, 20232 yr So for those that purchased, are purchases per platform? On pmdg website it says only PC, so I assume if I buy from them direct, I only get the PC version? If I purchase from the marketplace, and I also have the MS version (which lets you okay Pc and Xbox, both). does it work on both Xbox and PC, or what is the deal?
November 24, 20232 yr Author Hi Mgard: Thanks for your inquiry triggered off my post and these screenshots...Your question is probably best answered in the (neighborly) MSFS2020 Forum...🙂...I know there are folks there who have trialed both PC and Xbox versions of MSFS2020, and surely the question has been answered probably... Though myself, been on PC MS simulator for nearly 2 decades, currently, I'm an exclusive Xbox user and do not use this PMDG 737 on PC. I believe, yes, if you acquire the PMDG 737s from the Xbox (in-game) Marketplace, then, you should be able to run it on other PCs if you have the MS Store MSFS2020 on them, using your Xbox Account...but, of course, there are (known) limitations to the Xbox versions of 3rd-party a/c, such as by PMDG. Xbox route is not the way, I think, to get this a/c on the PC... Please investigate for yourself... Good-luck and have fun either way...! Edited November 24, 20232 yr by P_7878

Was not talking about "going xbox to get it on pc" or any weird thing like that. Meant if with a single purchase you get both the xbox version and the pc version.
November 25, 20232 yr Author Yes, it's a single purchase from the Marketplace...e.g., when I purchased the 737-600 from the in-game (Xbox) Marketplace, I noticed two icons below the product description (one for Xbox and one for PC), indicating the same product can be also played on a PC, via your Xbox Account, (as opposed to an HDR/4K TV, I exclusively use for my MSFS). When I was looking into these details a few months ago, I found several (helpful) threads in the PMDG Forum, so, you should check out the full details there (or even ask additional questions) before making your purchase ...The details are a bit involved...Sorry, I am not able to help more here... Cheers ...!
