December 7, 20232 yr Someone on a Discord server earlier pointed me to a benchmarking article discussing the power draw between the Ryzen 7800X3D (arguably the best CPU for MSFS) and Intel's i9-13900K. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d/24.html I'm shocked to see these results. Comparing my chosen CPU (5800X3D) against the 7800X3D, sees the latter have a marginal win, despite running higher clockspeed, with the extra bonus that it is overclockable. If you have other requirements from your PC, then the CPUs with more cores are clear winners. Simply put, for productivity uses the 7800X3D is a poor value option, slower and more expensive than it's non-3D siblings and Intel's offerings. Yet, for pure gaming, the 7800X3D is the most efficient performer. Also, there's nothing better price:performance at the moment. December 7, 20232 yr I do. If a more efficient GPU that delivers better performance than the 4090 is available, I would be interested. In that video both CPUs are with 3-4 degrees of each other and neither is at the throttling level (I think anyway as im sort of learning this new tech) and in the Alan wake test the Intel chip crashes. Just seems an odd example to use to show AMD deficiency or am I missing something here (always glad to learn)
