December 18, 20232 yr Hello all, Firstly, may I take this opportunity to whish those who celebrate Christmas, a very merry one followed by the best new year wishes for all. Just recently, when I load MSFS and get to post fly now - Fly (second) in VR I have an incredible array of black squares some are somewhat pixelated and opaque but most are solid. These decrease with height above ground, but initially there are thousands of these black squares. Occasionally, they initiate as red squares but generally are black. Performance is not an issue and MSFS in VR is quite smooth. It does not matter where I initiate flight from. I find that if I quit and reload MSFS they tend to disappear but sometimes they appear as normal. Has anybody got any idea where I go to to eliminate these. I am running out of hair to pull out LOL Cheers guys Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). December 20, 20232 yr Author Donka, No I do not have screenshots (att I do not really know how to upload them) I have an Oculus rift quest 2 with 256gb and connected via usb cable (changed twice in the last couple of days) I am currently incredibly busy trying to go home to Indonesia (wife diagnosed with breast cancer) ie getting visas and approval for personal goods into Indonesia tax free and also a multitude of medications which are not available in Indonesia for old fellas like me. I actually fitted in that request about ten minutes before a 312 km drive to Perth W.A. for a medical appointment. Back to Perth again tomorrow and only just got home 20 minutes ago LOL. Busy busy busy. Apologies for lateness in reply Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). December 20, 20232 yr First of all, best wishes for the health issue - hope all goes well. I don't have the same hardware or connection as you as I'll be mostly guessing. Are you using DX11 or DX12 for rendering in MSFS? If it is DX12, I would switch to DX11 and see if there is any change as DX12 still has some issues. Regardless of which it is, I would swap to the other to test. The next thing would be to lower graphics settings and render resolution in MSFS to see if there is any improvement. Do you have the option to connect wirelessly instead of USB cable? You might not get the same performance but it would rule out the cable connection being the issue, even though you have changed this. Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020.
