January 1, 20242 yr Happy new year everybody! 1936 at last! Redwing haven't released their KLAX as yet, but I thought I'd see what they'd done with the cityscape in their base USA 1935 package. I haven't done side-by-side comparisons for the main areas, but this does feel suitably amended in general. I have a few books here on LA over the years so I'll check those out and see. This shouldn't be here, I believe. I went looking to see what Chavez Ravine would look like, but Dodger Stadium is still here in this scenery although it didn't arrive for real until the '60s. Maybe some of this stuff will change when KLAX comes out. But the Griffith Observatory was opened in 1935, so that's valid None more '30s! Sharp eyes (or big screens) might notice another accurate indicator in the background the original Hollywood sign And down there is the Hollywood Bowl, opened in 1922 Never been there, but can in the sim of course Some of the studio buildings And more Looking back towards downtown Heading off towards the coast I grabbed this shot, and then wondered what the view would be like from that house at the top of the hill just below the rear wheel So I went down to take a look. Quite a pleasant front driveway! And off we go Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. January 1, 20242 yr Not a dramatic change but interesting if you know what to look for. Wish they could roll it back another 20 years or so and we'd have more orange groves. I have a book, "Los Angeles Aeronautics 1920-1929." It's a pictorial compilation and shows much more open space surrounding the many grass airfields.
