HiFi hasn't given up on ASXP12, they're just waiting for the platform to get into a stable development phase, with the necessary hooks to allow for better control and interaction with external weather injectors.

At least LR did not exclude that possibility, unlike ASOBO with MFS 2020... so, I still believe we will be able to see ASXP12 perform more like it does in the one that is by far the more flexible platform so far - FSX / P3D.

I'm using a realistic setup controlled entirely by AS and I have very sharp transitions, is there any way to smooth  transitions ?

I'm affraid there's no way... 

At most you can try hybrid mode with a relatively low transition, an prevent updates on final.
