Flylogic Locarno static aircraft removal

Recommended Posts

I have Flylogic's Locarno scenery (for P3D v5.4) and I had to reinstall it. The scenery has static aircraft in it and my AI that I have are parking on top of the static aircraft. Does anyone know how to remove the static aircraft? I had the static aircraft removed once before but I forgot how I did it. I did email Flylogic a few days ago asking about removing the static planes, but I haven't heard back from them.

Hopefully they’re in a BGL in the scenery folder for that addon. Look for anything with static in the filename and rename the BGL to BGL.OFF.

Might be a process of elimination if there are a few. In reality there should be an options.exe where the user can decide what he wants.

There is no configurator for this scenery and unfortunately there is no bgl file with static in the name.

Then I'm afraid you're stuck with it. If this is what you puchased I'm surprised there's no link for support? Is there one in the readme?

Yes, that is the scenery. I have their email and did email them a few days ago, I haven't heard back from them yet. I was hoping someone here may know how to delete them. I think last time they send me a exclude file (I don't remember), I looked to see if I had a file from them, but I don't.

@Joseph29, it looks very rudimentary scenery probably originally designed for FSX with just the installer changed for P3D.

I’m always wary of buying scenery with no reviews. If you don’t get a satisfactory reply from the developers then write your own review. Not being able to remove static aircraft is not good.

I didn’t find a way to remove static aircraft at this airport either. And unfortunately, Flylogic has the absolute worst customer service I ever experienced. I never ever got any useful support or advice from them. Their arrogance and ignorance was unsurpassable.

I have an airport with SODE objects classified as static aircraft. Bit of a long shot but check the SODE folder for anything associated with this airport.

c:\programdata\12bpilot\SODE

The other approach to this problem is to edit the airport file (aka ADE, AFCAD, AFX file) and remove the parking spots where statics are parked so that your AI can't see or use them.

Was this just posted? Or was this file here from a while now? I did look before I asked this question, but I guess I didn't see it.

I will go with Blaunarwal's AFCAD. He knows what he is doing. Me not so much.

The scenery isn't all that bad. If I were to rate it, I would give it a 6 out of 10 (10 being Flightbeam quality). The night lighting could be better, and of course an option to delete the static aircraft should have been included. But for me this scenery gets the job done, it was way better that the default scenery.

I tried the new AFCAD and it is better, but I still see one of my AI planes parking on top of the static plane. It is the static P6-6 that is parked at the end of the PC-9 line up in front of that large hangar.
