And there are other AP issues, such as diving and/porpoising when you change the lateral mode while the AP is engaged It's awful. I've wasted too much time on it. And clearly there will be more updates. It may work and then not work. For such a basic 2 axis (WW2-era) type AP, it's laughable. Take a look at the SWS SF50. OMG. It flys itself. Well I was posting purely as you claimed there were NO videos of ils working, which implies it doesn't work at ALL. I didn't know there were any updates to TDS I've only had one since purchase which was the superb navigraph integration one. As regards it working at some airports and not others that would imply the issue is with the airport nav coding surely? Last week I landed the pmdg 737 in a field in the middle of the night because the runway I used in the fms wasn't THERE. Now is that the fault of the plane, the navigraph database or the sim? I'm not a fan of early access tbh, and don't get me started on preorder either but with a small dev who has developed an almost complete, mostly working addon I can understand it these days. How about you provide a short list of airport runways where the ils does not work for you, then maybe me or someone else can try the same landing to see if it's just you or everyone. On a side note is there a database somewhere of all the dodgy airports that need to be fixed? What is happening is simple but I don't get it. Loc is captured perfectly. But... when I click on GS... it stops tracking the Loc and will not descend down the GS. There have been so many updates to the GTN software to "fix the FSW Lear" I am sure it works... then it doesn't. Another fix comes out... it works... then it doesn't. It's a hot mess. June 21, 20241 yr You try EGNM R14 or Cardiff R30 ILS. Tell me it works and I need a full reinstall of MSFS. I've reinstalled the Garmin trainer and the TDS and the Lear. Still flaking out.

Want to make sure we have exact same plates/frequencies etc. Even better please post the ILS and course you are using for these 2. Another question: When you tune the ILS do you ever see glidescope alive? As in the vertical indicator does it appear on the CDI/HSI? If you do NOT then that's the reason it does not work. If you DO then the fault is with the A/P coupling code. Russell Gough SE London
June 21, 20241 yr Leeds Bradford EGNM R32. Plate Cockpit GTN So the Nav / Loc is Captured. Fine. But once GS is Armed (amber) it may Green up but the Localiser is then ignored... i.e it stops tracking it. Stays green and Cap on MCP but it wanders off. And... it will not descend into the GS from 4.2 miles out at 1600. If I don't hit GS it tracks the Loc perfectly. I am using both manual Heading mode to intercept the Loc or allowing the GTN to stay in Nav mode... either way it's no go. The story is the same at Cardiff EGFF R32. There is version 1 and version 2 (updated) from ORBX? Also, just flew this myself yesterday since you mentioned this was the problem for you. I did 14 and 32 without any issues in the Lear. June 21, 20241 yr Well I've tried both and the default. But, what I'm finding now, is that it only works if you are in "GPS NAV" mode... all the way to the Localiser FAF. Then.. you can switch to ILS VLoc mod and it works fine ! But...It will NOT capture the GS if you intercept the Localiser in "Heading" mode... unlike every other addon I use it with. And it certainly doesn't auto switch to ILS mode ... although they do make the latter, clear, if you read the small print. Unfortunately given that Beyond ATC is mainly giving out vectors currently, it makes it virtually useless to me. I also find when switching from HDG to GPS Nav mode -- or vice versa -- it loses Altitude Hold and plummets out of the sky at up to 4000 fpm. Not good. Never seen this before. I also note in your video that you stayed on the "magenta line" until the very last minute and then (I assume) clicked on ILS VOR LoC to activate the App mode and gain GS interception too. Yes... I can do this too. But in reality the GTN should not be this restrictive. You should be able to navigate using a mixture of GPS and HDG modes or just HDG mode.. and still have the LOC/GS intercepted... as you can with the PMS GTN or the GNS 530. For me.. I see "Compatibilty with the TDS GTN" very 'limited' at best. It also explains why so many GTN patches gave been released for the FSW Lear over the last 6 to 9 months. It simply has issues with it. I've spent too much time on this. It's thus time to move on unfortunately. But thanks for your response.
