GPS (GNS530, GNS430) doesn't coupled with VOR.

Featured Replies

HI,

When I use GNS530 (working title), most of the time, VOR(OBS) doesn't coupled with GPS, just showed off-flags, every time selecting RNAV approach when the airplane is on the ground, but selecting the approach when the airplane is in the air usually it coupled with GPS. When selecting an airport, it always coupled with VOR even the airplane is on the ground. This issue happens every airplane and only when selecting approach. Is there any fix for this? Incidentally, I didn't install any MOD for GNS530.

Thanks,

Are you in VLOC when you want to use vor and ILS?  And gps mode while flying rnav legs and approaches?  Press the CDI button on the GNS (or I think the SWS pc12 is an exception, press the NAV button the center pedestal) to swap between VLOC and gps.

I've been changing both GPS and VLOC (VOR, ILS) mode by VLOC or CDI button on GNS530. Even when I use GPS mode from the beginning, that issue happens, which is after activating Procedures on the ground, OBS showed off-flags (even when it showed no flags before activation). Activating them in the air, OBS shows off-flags sometimes but not always like on the ground. I've found that choose any airport first (this way, most of the time, OBS coupled with GPS). After verifying that then choose destination airport and procedure again so that OBS coupled with GPS. It seems like Working Title GNS 530 haven't been properly configured. I tried to uninstall it via Content manager, but there are 2 version of them. I was able to uninstall latest version, but I was unable to uninstall the other as the uninstall button was disabled. I just wanted to avoid uninstall and re-install MSFS2020 from the scratch for fixing that issue.

Thanks,

The two instances that you see are 1. The GNS gauge, and 2. A pointer that redirects airplane calls from the earlier Asobo gauge to the newer WT version.  Look at the reported size of the two instances and you will see which is which.

As for your troubles.. It would help if you could explain one instance where it malfunctions for you, including all the steps, so that one of us can try to replicate what you are seeing..
