How to reduce these excessive bloom/gloom lights?

Recommended Posts

I am not sure if these is caused by some lua script or this is how it is by default.  These light effects needs to be reduced. Where can I make adjustments?

Hi,

I didn't like the lighting in XP12 so I created my own edits that remove this issue and a few others as well. This is what the latest release looks like, with a link in the youtube description for download.

The brute force method is editing lights.txt in "Resources/bitmaps/world/lites/lights.txt".

The soft version is ditching the autobahn/motor-/highway lighting altogether via library override: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/85282-highwaymotorwayautobahn-light-removal-library-for-x-plane-12/

Disregard, wrong file. That's what happens when one has multiple conversations on multipole platforms, this can be deleted.

I had lost that tweak and the lighting had changed in XP12 but not in some areas. That single texture file did the trick. Very acceptable result and no issues with it in XP12.

Appreciated The SeaWolf.

Thanks I tried the "\XP12 Original Color Tint\Dim Light Set" and it is looking much better

Hi,

Glad you find them useful. I prefer the Original Bright set myself, but they are still a work in progress.
