Never ever want to see .30 zoom again. But how?

Featured Replies

I'm using P3Dv5 with a 16:9 aspect ratio monitor (2560x1440).

Setting a zoom level of 0.56 gives me the exact same perspective as using a zoom of 1.0 with Wide-View Aspect Ratio Enabled.

Thanks for this tip, Ray.

Maybe I shouldn't ask this here......

I'm happy with my zoom/scaling/wide screen view in P3D, but very unhappy with the outside view in that other sim. Maybe its my setup but as I pan around a plane in flight I get what can be best described as elongated and out of proportion somewhat "stretched" views.

Can't get to grips with it at all!

I have been told that Asobo/Microsoft have been asked about this hundreds of times, but they presumably do not see it as a problem

I'm new to P3D (from FSX). I tried doing what I imagined would work - changing the zoom in the camera file since that worked in FSX. But it did not change anything at all in P3D. P3D seems to take the zoom values from the default flight or otherwise a "default" flight that I set (that I have to load manually since unlike FSX I cannot replace the default flight it seems). However even then, it only seems to "take" the virtual cockpit zoom and not the spot and other external zooms (which are all far too high for my liking).

It seems in my short experience that it is scenarios that need to be changed and not the camera file. The only setting I have tried to change in the camera file and which worked was the panning rates.

I might try changing the P3D default flight zooms and see how that works.
