Just an update on this one.   Despite several email reminders, the dev never did send me the CFGs to fix this aircraft up, depsite the promises.

I emailed today and he replied and said he's on a trip but will send the CFGs when he's home.  We'll see.

But....... he also mentioned that "the brakes have been fixed", which I found odd, as this plane shows zero updates on the marketplace.

Turns out, it was so bad that he pulled it from sale on the Marketplace.   It went back up a week ago, and a few of the issues have been fixed:-

  • Brakes no longer stick
  • Engine gauge correctly reflects RPMs
  • Sound is now aliased to the default Icon (at least it's the correct engine now)
  • FDE is a lot better and the plane flies close to the IRL numbers

There are still some major quality issues, such as the fact that although the plane has manual flaps (with a great big Johnson bar in the cockpit), it has electrical flaps sounds 😶 .... (because the Icon sounds that it is aliased to has electric flaps).

It's actually not too bad to fly now and quite good fun.

There is one other pretty bad issue though.   The turning radius is wider than that of an A380.  So if he does follow his word and send me the CFGs, I can fix this easily.

Doesn't Microsoft have standards before something is released in the Marketplace? Aren't addons tested?

I find this to really annoying that developers like diemos etc pump planes out faster than mating bunnies
