February 6, 20242 yr Hi Dave, I just downloaded the latest beta (2.7.0.0 7N) and my BitDefender AV software blocked the install. It's telling me the exe and a temp file are blocked due to malware. Unfortunately it does not give me a lot of details as to why it did that. I've been using Pilot2Atc for more than a year now, generally downloading the latest beta whenever it is available. This is the first time my AV software has complained. I did an individual scan of the exe and it came back clean. Is it possible that your beta installer process has changed so that it is doing something that the AV software does not like? Regards, Roger
February 6, 20242 yr Commercial Member Nothing has changed with the beta installer process or software. I suspect that possibly BitDefender is doing something different to cause it to flag the update installer. I have not had other reports of issues with the update. Dave
February 10, 20242 yr Just tried this and I agree. The warning shows when actually executing the installation file. Scanning the *.zip or the extracted *.exe reports 'clean'.
February 10, 20242 yr @ubergeek99 In Bitdefender, "Advanced Threat Defense" section, "Parameters" menu, click on "+ Add an exception" and specify the P2A installer executable file. You will then be able to run the P2A installer. Check all checkbox. I occasionally have this problem with P2A update executable files. These are false positives that are wrongly detected by Bitdefender. When this happens, I do as I said by creating an exception in Bitdefender.
