Map Enhancement does not work

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

I updated the Map Enhancement app and it no longer works.

I start the app before I start MSFS, but the old maps are still loaded in MSFS. In the dashboard you can also see that the new tiles do not update if you move.

Anyone an idea?

I'd suggest having a look at the github page in the FAQ section. Or browse through comments on the flightsim.to page. There's a few scenarios where the app doesn't work properly, like host file access, antivirus software etc...

VPN? Try changing servers?

This happened to me and I'm pretty sure it's because I was on ProtonVPN, and the Google server had the proxy's IP address or possibly range banned.

I did have to completely restart the utility to get it to connect properly again after I turned the VPN off.

Little known thing to delete... Even if rolling cache disabled

Appdata/Local/FlightSimulator/

Delete the mapscache folder and the overrides.json.. It will be recreated..  This can get corrupt easily and cause all sorts of tile loading/display issues from in game to the world map.
